Hello everyone, today I’m going to write about pin-up. May be you can ask yourself what is pin-up or Isn’t that pornography? Well, I’m going to tell you a little of this, and what really is.
A pin-up is a photograph or another kind of illustrations of a girl in a suggestive attitude or just a girl with a smile, saying hello or looking to the camera. This images appear in the cover of magazines, comic-books or calendars. The models of this works are called pin-up girls.

The pin-up and pin-up girls exist from the end of the XIX century, but the time when it takes more popularity, was in the 1920’s. In those time pin-up girls devoted their careers to pin-up, it was their full-time work. Nowadays, they are photography models, actress or singers, without been full-time pin-up girls.
I’d like pin-up because of the aesthetic that had. By example, the illustrations of Alberto Vargas are soft and delicate but with a touch of the erotic and mysterious of women.

| Betty Page |
My favorite pin-up models are Marilyn Monroe and Betty Page. Both became pin-up girls in the 1950’s and they represent, in my opinion, opposite poles of woman archetype. In one side we have Marilyn, the sexy and coquette blonde, a little inocent. And by the the other side is Betty,black-haired is also sexy but at the same time very erotic and domineering.

I like pin-up models, they are sexy and their clothes... I love their clothes! I agree with you about Marilyn and Betty :B
